Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about SwishIPTV

IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) delivers television content over your internet connection rather than through traditional cable or satellite infrastructure. Instead of a physical signal being broadcast to a dish or cable, video streams are delivered digitally from our servers directly to your device in real time.

When you subscribe to SwishIPTV, you receive a set of credentials — a server URL, username, and password. You enter these into a compatible IPTV player app, and the app fetches a list of all available channels and VOD content from our servers. From there, streaming works exactly like any other video service — tap a channel and it plays instantly.

The main advantages over cable or satellite: no contracts, no hardware installation, access to thousands of international channels, and it works on any internet-connected device. All you need is a stable broadband connection of at least 10 Mbps per stream.

Yes — a 24-hour free trial is available with no credit card required. The trial gives you full access to every channel and VOD title in our catalogue, at the same quality as a paid subscription. This lets you verify that the service works on your specific device and network before committing to a plan.

To claim your trial, simply open the live chat on this page and ask. We'll have your credentials ready within minutes. Trials are available once per household.

The number of simultaneous streams depends on your plan:

  • 1 Month — 1 connection
  • 3 Months — 2 connections
  • 6 Months — 3 connections
  • 12 Months — 5 connections

You can install your credentials on as many devices as you like — only actively streaming devices count against the limit. For example, on a 3-connection plan you can have the app installed on five devices but only stream on two of them simultaneously.

If you try to open a third stream on a 2-connection plan, the app will show an authentication error. Simply close one of the other streams first.

  • FireStick or Android TV — use TiviMate. It has the best interface, EPG, and DVR features of any IPTV player available.
  • Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android phone — use IPTV Smarters Pro. It runs on all major platforms and has a polished interface with full EPG support.
  • iPhone / iPad onlyGSE Smart IPTV is a solid paid alternative ($2.99 one-time).
  • Quick test / desktopVLC works with your M3U URL but has no EPG and is not recommended for daily use.

Full installation and setup instructions for every app are available in our Setup Guide.

IPTV technology itself is completely legal — it is simply a method of delivering video over an internet connection, used by services like Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube. As with any streaming service, you are responsible for ensuring your use complies with the copyright laws and regulations in your country.

If you have any questions about the content available or the legality in your specific region, we recommend consulting local legal advice.

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Bitcoin (BTC) — private, borderless, and instant
  • Monero (XMR) — fully private cryptocurrency
  • Stripe — secure card payments via Stripe's payment platform

All transactions are processed securely. If you have any issues completing a payment, contact us via live chat and we will assist you.

No — subscriptions never auto-renew. We do not store your payment details and you will never be charged without explicitly authorising a payment.

We send a reminder notification a few days before your subscription expires so you have time to renew without losing access. Renewals can be done at any time through the live chat. If your subscription lapses, your account is simply paused — your settings and history are retained for 30 days before the account is removed.

Yes, upgrades are available at any time. Contact us via live chat and tell us what plan you want to move to. We will calculate the prorated value of your remaining subscription time and apply it as a credit toward the new plan — you will never lose time you have already paid for.

For example, if you are halfway through a 1-month plan and want to upgrade to a 6-month plan, we credit the unused portion and you only pay the difference.

We offer a 24-hour free trial precisely so you can confirm the service meets your needs before paying. Because of this, and because IPTV is a digital service that is delivered immediately upon activation, we do not offer refunds once a subscription has been activated.

However, if you are experiencing a technical issue, please contact support — we will work to resolve it promptly. If a problem on our end is preventing you from using the service, we will extend your subscription to compensate for any downtime.

Recommended speeds per active stream:

  • SD quality: 5 Mbps minimum
  • HD (720p): 10–15 Mbps
  • Full HD (1080p): 15–25 Mbps
  • 4K / UHD: 25–50 Mbps

If you have a multi-connection plan and multiple people stream at the same time, multiply accordingly — for example, three simultaneous 1080p streams need around 45–75 Mbps total available bandwidth.

A wired Ethernet connection always provides the most stable experience. If you are on Wi-Fi, make sure your device is close to the router and on the 5GHz band rather than 2.4GHz. Powerline adapters are a good middle ground if running a cable is not practical.

Buffering is almost always caused by a local network issue rather than our servers. Work through these steps in order:

  1. Run a speed test at fast.com — check your actual download speed matches what your ISP promises
  2. Switch from Wi-Fi to a wired Ethernet connection if at all possible
  3. Disable any VPN — VPNs route traffic through additional servers and can cut your effective speed by 30–70%
  4. In your IPTV app, increase the buffer size to Large or Very Large (found in Settings → Player)
  5. Clear the app cache: Settings → Apps → your IPTV app → Clear Cache
  6. Restart your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging back in
  7. Restart your streaming device completely

If buffering only occurs on specific channels, those may be high-demand streams during peak hours. Try the same channel at a different time of day. If buffering affects all channels consistently and your speed test results are good, contact our support team via live chat so we can investigate on the server side.

The vast majority of login failures (over 95%) are caused by credential entry errors. Follow these steps before contacting support:

  1. Copy and paste every field from your welcome email — never type credentials manually. A single misplaced character will cause an authentication failure.
  2. Make sure the Server URL includes the port number. It should look like http://yourserver.com:8080 — without the port, the connection will fail silently.
  3. Check for trailing spaces in any field — these are invisible but will break authentication.
  4. Verify your subscription is still active and has not expired.
  5. Confirm you are not exceeding the simultaneous connection limit for your plan — if another device is already streaming, a new connection will be rejected.
  6. Delete and re-add the playlist entirely to force a fresh authentication attempt.

If none of the above resolves the issue, open the live chat and send us a screenshot of the error message — we can usually diagnose the problem immediately.

EPG issues are very common and usually easy to resolve:

  • EPG data can take up to 30 minutes to fully populate after you first add an account — this is normal. Wait and then force a refresh.
  • Always use the Xtream Codes login method rather than M3U. Xtream Codes connections include EPG data automatically. M3U connections require a separate EPG URL to be configured manually.
  • TiviMate: go to Settings → EPG → Force Update and wait for the spinner to complete.
  • IPTV Smarters: pull down to refresh on the main channels screen, or delete and re-add your playlist.
  • GSE Smart IPTV: make sure the EPG toggle is switched ON in the playlist settings.

If EPG is missing for only some channels, that is expected — not every channel in our 31,000+ library has EPG data available. Sports and major international channels are covered, but smaller regional channels may not be. If you need EPG for a specific channel that is missing, send us a message via live chat and we will do our best to provide it.

In most cases, no — a VPN is not needed and will actually hurt performance. VPNs add an extra hop to every packet of data, which reduces throughput and increases latency. This can turn a smooth 1080p stream into a buffering mess.

If your ISP is actively throttling video streaming traffic, a VPN may help by hiding the traffic type. In that case, choose a VPN server that is geographically close to you to minimise the speed penalty.

If you are having streaming issues, always try disabling your VPN first before troubleshooting anything else — it resolves the problem in a significant number of cases.

  • First confirm your internet connection is working on the same device — load a webpage to verify.
  • Delete and re-add your playlist from scratch. A corrupted cached playlist is one of the most common causes of channels failing to load entirely.
  • Large playlists like ours (31,000+ channels) can take 2–5 minutes to fully load on slower devices. Wait for the loading spinner to complete before browsing.
  • Verify your credentials are correct and the subscription is active — an expired sub will show an empty channel list without an obvious error message in some apps.
  • Try a different IPTV app to rule out the app itself being the issue.
  • Check if the issue affects all channels or just specific categories — if it is only one category, that group may be temporarily updating on our servers.

If none of these steps help, contact support via live chat with details of the app you are using and a description of the error.
